Owl Wood Veneer Postcard
Owl laser print on wood veneer postcard created by Liv Rainey-Smith
Originally created for Arcanum Bestiarum, by Robert Fitzgerald, the Owl was the first image Rainey-Smith created for the book. As night creatures, owls are often associated with malefic forces such as demons and witches. In many native American traditions the owl is believed to have the power to grant both life and death. It is a creature both revered and fearful. In Scotland owls were associated with the faerie folk.
Wood cards have a unique beauty and feel that makes them into more than just an average greeting card. Many folks collect them for themselves, but you can write on the back with a ballpoint pen, and mail them with a single first class stamp. Each of these cards is made from wood veneer sustainably harvested and processed in the USA -- creating these cards actually uses less wood and energy than papermaking!
This is a laser printed reproduction of Rainey-Smith's original artwork, "Owl" on natural wood veneer.
4 x 6" postcard size, so it will fit standard frames and picture displays. Envelope included for your mailing pleasure.
Please note, because wood is a natural material it has its own unique character. The photos above are a representation. Each card may exhibit different grain patterns as well as color variations.
